1. Launched 4 New Websites

We started the year strong with the release of DTx.com (see client result) and RevereElectric.com (see client result), then finished off 2014 with two responsive websites (SafePlumbing.org & BJElectric.com).

2. Grew our Team

Robert has provided the front-end development we sorely needed, and we also hired a virtual assistant to help with billing and administrative tasks.

3. Polished off the Office Vibe

When we moved into our office in September 2013, it didn't feel quite like home. In 2014, we changed that. Creating an inspiring and collaborative work environment was the focus, and I think we nailed it.

(Any environment is better with a candy jar, amirite?)

4. Created Content Marketing Training & Workshop

Content Marketing is all the buzz these days, but many companies struggle to understand it fully and use to its full capacity. We've set out to change this. Our Content Marketing training is a 2 week virtual course and our workshop is a two-day hands-on event offered at the ProtoFuse office or remotely.

A few clients have walked through the training already, and we're getting positive feedback.

5. Integrated entire SunNFunFL.com website to existing CarefreeRVResorts.com website architecture & design

Our client Carefree Communities acquired a few major RV parks in 2014, and Sun-N-Fun was one of them. With that acquisition, came the inheritance of Sun-N-Fun's website. This integration was one of our top UX design & SEO challenges of the year.

6. Stayed committed to our own Content Strategy

We believe in the power of a content strategy, and our Blog is proof of our commitment to one. We wrote no less than 1,500 words monthly which helped double our organic traffic in 12 months and generate new opportunities along the way.

7. Finalized the ProtoFuse Manifesto/Core Values/Driving Principles

Since our departure from Caxiam, we've been working hard to establish and communicate our identity — a challenging task to put into words.

SEETAP is our best attempt.

8. Switched all our clients to Media Temple hosting

This has given our team a cleaner and faster development environment (including a continual database sync), faster migration of files, and more robust back-end utilities for managing our client's websites. Our uptime has never dropped below 98.5%!

9. Designed "What is an Intelligent Website?"

This section of our website (What is an Intelligent Website?) articulates what ProtoFuse is all about in a visual and interactive way.

10. Adopted New Tools & Services

The byproduct of continual process improvement — internally and for our clients — is finding new tools of the trade. 2014 brought us:

  1. Slickplan (site mapping tool) > see how we use it: How to Design the Structure of a Website with Sitemapping in Eight Steps

  2. InVision (internal tool for reviewing design mood boards & mockups)

  3. CallRail (call tracking)

  4. LastPass Enterprise (password storage service, their browser extension is incredibly time-saving!)

  5. HipChat (internal chat program)

We believe a conversion-focused website — paired with the proper traffic, content, automation, and end-to-end ROI measurement — equips B2B technology companies with a real asset to scale their business.
